Tomorrow Audioholic Ninja Aug 10, 2009 #2 Almost all speakers can be rebuilt. Sounds like you just need to replace the driver. (How do you know it's bad?) The S312 is fine, good value loudspeaker that is probably worth repairing.

K KenK Audiophyte Aug 10, 2009 #3 I think it's bad because... There's distortion - just in the midrange, not the tweeter or woofer. My receiver is a Pioneer SX-1050. It was rebuilt last year. Thank you for writing back.

K KenK Audiophyte Aug 11, 2009 #4 I took the midrange out to swap it with the other one. One of the voice coil leads fell off. Cold solder joint. Speaker Exchange can get them. The same driver was used in the S38. We're good to go.
