Hello all

Can these speakers be rebuilt? Thank you for answering.

Almost all speakers can be rebuilt. Sounds like you just need to replace the driver. (How do you know it's bad?)

The S312 is fine, good value loudspeaker that is probably worth repairing.

I think it's bad because...

There's distortion - just in the midrange, not the tweeter or woofer.

My receiver is a Pioneer SX-1050. It was rebuilt last year.

Thank you for writing back.

I took the midrange out to swap it with the other one. One of the voice coil leads fell off. Cold solder joint. Speaker Exchange can get them. The same driver was used in the S38. We're good to go.

Same here............

I heard the same thing...and you know what???? I open them up and to my surprise one of the resistances was burned. :-(
