Does anyone out there have any experience with these wall-mount speakers? I'm looking for a pair a speakers for my sister's kitchen. She loves music, but isn't patient enough to do the legwork/earwork required to find a decent pair of speakers. She's also a notorious tightwad. I found these JBL's at BestBuy.ca, for CAN$250. If I had time I'd install in-wall or in-ceiling speakers for her. But, there is no easy access to the attic and the walls are the external ones (insulation filled) and it would be a time-consuming nightmare to run the wires. Spare time is something I rarely have. :(Hence, on-wall (or "on-ceiling" for that matter) is my/her only option. If anybody has other suggestions, I'd appreciate the advice.:)

I haven't had any experience with the new ES line, but I am using studio L810s for my surrounds and they work very well (L830s for fronts). A lot of folks here aren't big JBL fans so you may get some negative responses. I have owned JBLs for over 20 years and have always been pleased. I see you own Paradigms. The ES10s are not going to be any match for them, but your not paying that price either.

Also my 810s wall mount nicely. There is an included stencil to mark your holes. Probably the ESs have the same.

I have a pair of the E10's. From what I understand, the drivers and x-overs are the same, but the box is tuned differently. Not a bad set of speakers for what I paid ($40.00 a pair US$). For CAN$250 I would expect to be able to find better though. Not being from Canada, that may be easy for me to say, but it does seem like you would be paying almost list price for them.

A pair of Infinity Beta 20s or Behringer 2030p would do the trick

As would a pair of KEF iQ1s

The speakers are for my sister, so they don't have to match with my Paradigms. Thanks for the response!

Thanks for the suggestions, but the models you listed are bookshelf/stand-mount speakers and are a bit deep (in the physical dimension sense) for the application. The ES10's got my attention because they are only 5 1/2" deep. As I need to mount them on a wall in a kitchen, at standing height, I'm concerned about protruding to far into the room and having somebody bash their noggin. Any other suggestions? I expect that whatever I suggest for my sister, it will involve some serious SQ compromises...

Axiom would be no trouble to get - they're made in Canada! I checked out the M0's. I'm sure they would perform well, as Axioms tend to do, except in the bottom end - 160 Hz is an awfully high bass cutoff frequency and my sister is NOT going to want to buy a subwoofer. The W2's look like a nice candidate, except that they are "semi-in-wall" and I wanted to avoid breaking into the wall. I'll have to give that some thought...
