I was fortunate enough to get a great deal on some pro cinema speakers and have the space for them too.
They sound great and get pretty damn loud, but I know they recommend 500w rms per speaker which is a lot more than my reciever pumps out.
I have tried a couple amps and they all sound horrible out of the preamps on my reciever. I tried my onkyo reciever with the same results, so 2 different amps, 2 different receivers, multiple cables and connections - same outcome. My phone 1/4 headphone jack to the amps works great. Not sure what I am doing wrong on the external amp side. I have turned every setting every direction with no good results.
I am pretty happy with the internal amp, but I don't want to burn out the receiver or speakers. What do you think I should do.
