It would appear these are the same amplifiers with a few cosmetic differences and possibly a front mounted power switch on the Emotiva, where as the Jamo's power switch is located on the rear. Similar layouts and same specs would indicate they are made by the same manufacturer. If you look at detailed pictures of each you will notice all the screws are in the same places, note the Jamo sinks there screws for cosmetics.

Here is a link the the Jamo-

And the Emotiva-

And a link to the Jamo for sale on the web-

The Jamo may have better WAF, but is it worth more than double the price?:D

Just thought I would share this interesting find, not that it is terribly relevant. Or it may save someone some cash.:)

Negative, Seth. The Jamo and Emotiva have different specs. I see no similarity except a similar concept. The BPA-1 is an integrated amp...the Jamo is not. The Jamo appears to be just an amplifier with a built-in crossover and daisy-chain capability (like the Emotiva).

How do you figure, it has level control just as well as the BPA-1?

OK, they have different specs. The MPA-101 is rated for 50 watts per channel @ 4 ohms, so the Emotiva falls in the middle of the two amplifiers.

I still have a strong feeling they are made by the same manufacturer for the most part.:)

Looks more like a marantz than it does an emotiva, marantz rotel, audio source & even b&w all had amps that shared that design.

Maybe Emotiva got some NOS and just went crazy. Maybe they are all made by Sherwood.:D
