I just got word from my rep that Jamo has decided to discontinue the C80 line of loudspeakers! The claim that due to the rising cost to build that the cost was expected to increase 25% by the end of 2008. This is really a bummer because the C80's have been one of our most popular series of speakers. I personally own the C809's, C80 center, C80 surrounds, and the C80 sub and have been really happy with them. I have been sitting on the fence thinking about buying a pair of C803's for my bedroom and today I am going to get them and just deal with my wife about it when I get home!

Anyway, I just thought I would share this with anyone that has though about buying them. You better not wait long because from what I understand there will be no more!

I have heard this from several other places, notably Klipsch (the Klipsch Group owns Jamo, Mirage, and Energy now) as well. In addition to energy prices, etc, any part of the industry that does any business with China was hit with a 1st time Ever price increase from China. The cost of my Palladium P-39f went up from $15k to $20k which sounds in line with the type of increases you're being quoted. It sucks, but it sounds like similar increases are coming for anything that's not a mass-market product.
