I really like my NAD. I bought it used, it still works great. Boy you gotta give it to ebay you can find anything there. This thing really has ton of headroom..really has some b@lls It makes my hair stand on end every time I turn it on. The wife really likes it too. Every guy should own one. It comes highly recommended.

I turned my DA4ES into a Z-9 with it.

Actually I made a typo in all my excitement it is the NAD 2200 model Stereo Power Amplifier not the 2900. There is for all intensive purposes a manufacturing flaw on many of these models that causes it to be flaky, but I've figured how to permanently fix it, so it can be had for a bargain many times.

As for shinerman's lude comment, get off the bock. You'll understand if you're from TX. Anyway..If you think I'm a uni-bomber freak now, wait 'til I add 3 more.

Vivaldi: The DA4ES is my Sony Receiver. The Z-9 is the all end to all known Receivers, particularly to Yamaha fans, and apparently you can make other receivers into them by adding seperates. I didn't know that, until I read it here somewhere.

Here are some specs for it if interested.

"A previous thread relating to the RX-V2400's volume control and volume levels led to me recounting how I had set up my RX-V2400 system to effectivly make it into a Z9. It seemed to me this issue merited a thread of its own." - RX-V2400

I think hopjohn was refering to RX-V2400's thread about making his Yamaha Rx-v2400 into a Z9. So making a receiver into a Z9 was a knock on a Yammy Clone.

Yes I caught that about the fake Z9 clone (if only I could think of a way to turn a Sony Walkman into a NAD) - and I thought it quite cleaver and funny.

However on a serious note, Shiner Bock is quite a sweet ladies beer. Having come here to southern California from Texas, I once though it a man's drink and I have drunk my fill of it in the Texas Hill Country and at World Championship Chilli Cookoffs in Terlingua: But considering the sophistication in which I now live sourounded by NAD's (both) and Yamahas I find it quite a sissy beer.

What? I know a "man" from "So-Cal" of all places just didn't call Shinerbock and thus Shinerman a sissy beer and thus a sissy! Did he? A "man" never has his "fill" of ANY beer.

Of course, I can see your frustration with Shiner. It must be awfully hard for you "So-Cals" to stick those paper umbrellas and plastic swords with cherries on them down a longneck! Go get your "Girl Drink Drunk" on!

Don't mess with Texas, Beeeeaaaatch!

To be fair to my old home State, Shiner Bock was, before the micro-brewery explotion, one of the best Texas beers. Of course Texans have to drink there beer frozen - they say for refreshment, but I say so they don't have to taste it.

But for the record, all I ever stuffed down my longneck was a big fat slice of lime. It's then you know you are a man and have both of your NADs.

How did this thread turn into Nads and Beer?

If you like(d) Shinerbock, you might want to give Abita Amber Ale a try. That's a good beer. Made in Abita Springs, La.
