After a long couple of months, I've decided to go Ascend Sierra towers, Sierra horizon center, Sierra-2 for my rears, all with RAAL tweeter, Rythmiks D15se. Everything in piano black. I would like to thank everyone who was kind enough to answer my questions and give their valued opinions.

In your other thread I mentioned that Sierra 1 were overkill for surround duty, so you went and got the Sierra 2 for surround .

I'm jealous of how good this system will be.

Congrats....I don't want to be the fly in the ointment but is the horizon available in PB? The HGB & PB aren't exactly the same finish if you look at the photo gallery on the website. I think the others would be fine....but PB for the STC is doable.... believe.

Good luck and do provide some pics...but I am more partial towards the espresso finishes myself....

I have e-mail'd Ascend about the finish as well. I'm hoping it's an oversight on the website I decided to go with the sierra-2 for rears for three reasons. First, if in the future I decide multichannel music is to my liking, I'll be ready and won't have to upgrade. Second, i've read more than one thread reply as to how close the sierra-2's match the towers sound wise. Third, a complete system from Ascend gets me a discount on both the full range speakers, and on the sub. Every little bit helps

Wise choice!! Never hear those but base on published specs, probably best sounding (I mean accuracy, and with good matching subs) non DIY speakers money can buy..

Actually a Lexus LX 570. But it will be used as mains, not surrounds.

If they had satin black bamboo at the time of my purchase it would have saved me a bundle in trying to match my surrounds and sub with that espresso finish on my Towers. Black is so easy to match but I am not a big fan of PB...I was aware it could be achieved for the STC but only as a custom finish option. I am glad you contacted Ascend prior to finalizing your order and avoided any confusion.

As it turns out she likes the cherry finish. Never woulda guessed that one. But since cherry is so hard to match with anything, b bamboo it is.
