The stork (dressed as a UPS delivery guy) just dropped off my 61 lb baby!

I have just set up my new HK 7200 and its music to my ears. After I return the fork lift to Home Depot I will have to learn all this hog can do!!!

Congratulations on making a fine purchase. I much prefer the looks of the 7200 over the 7300 but they should sound the same. Be sure and check out the L7 processing compared to PL II and Neo 6. I much prefer the L7.

Looks like a very nice reciever, lots of heft to that power supply.
The 7200 looks like it will offer a lot of fine home theatre and audio enjoyment!

thanks all!!! Ive watched three DVD concerts since i hooked it up this afternoon...AWESOME! I cant believe how strong this thing is. I love the way it looks too. I was a little weary about the black face but when its all lit up, it looks like Christmas :D My poor Sub trying to keep up with the mids and highs blew along the way :( . Ive had it for about 3 years and was about time to upgrade (at least thats what I keep telling myself). BTW, can you replace the processor inside the sub? the driver seems fine, or at least when i put a little resistance to the woofer i can not feel the unravelled v-coil inside the magnet (ive blown a bunch of speakers so I know that feels like). i took it apart and checked the fuse and that was fine. then I noticed a black circle on the Pre processors board. tried everything i know which is not much but enough to get me into trouble. I would prefer to get the parts and repair myself if it is possible and cost effective.
Speakers-
I am running JBL Studio Speakers. S 412 fronts, S-center, 4 S-36II for all surrounds. WOW do they sound great. Im sure not as good as some set-ups out there, but from what sound my old receiver used to produce, it sounds great! I almost forgot...S-12 Sub (before today). Any suggestions on a New sub ? assuming I cant fix it myself

Congrats.
Make sure you read the manual, at least the important parts first, then the rest ;)

Congrats. A friend bought the AVR125 (the extreme opposite of your 7200 in the HK line) and hasn't shut up about it in two years. That entry level unit has some guts.

What's your budget (if you have anything left!) for a new sub? How big a box can you fit in your room?

I just read your post on the speakes section and looked at parts express. I like the 500 watt plate amp. might be a good choice. ill have to wait a few weeks to pull the trigger though. My room size is about 18 X 12. If I am gonna rebuild with parts I dont want to skimp. I would rather eat ramon noodles for a few weeks than get an amp for my sub i wouldnt be happy with in a few months. If I get a beefier amp then a new driver is next on the list! Cutting up my sub box is no big deal. I have built a few enclosures for my car. Ill check out that theater research (white...thing) on google. it looks like a solid sub. weighs in at 70 lbs and says its 500 watts with a msrp of 1599. going for quite a bit less on line...Ill do some more homework on it! back to ebay i go!!!

Taken from a popular website:

A sampling of the many, many names that I have come across on various websites and web forums where people have reported getting scammed or approached:

Audiofile
Acoustic Monitor
Acoustic Response (not to be confused with the company Acoustic Research, which involved the famous and respected Henry Kloss, who went on to found KLH and Cambridge Soundworks), Acoustic Image, Acoustic Lab Technology
Denmark (not to be confused with Denon)
Dogg Digital, Digital Dogg Audio (reportedly very popular on eBay)
Dahlton
Dynalab (not to be confused with Dynamat)
Epiphany
Grafdale
Digital Pro Audio, Pro Audio, Digital Audio, Digital Audio Professional Speaker Systems, Digital Audio Skyline Digital Research
Epiphany Audio
Omni Audio
Protecsound
Pro Dynamics
Paradyme (not to be confused with Paradigm)
PSD (jokingly referred to as Paid Scam Drivers). Not to be confused with PSB.
Theater Research
They often come in fancy boxes, carrying sticker price tags(since when did goods from a warehouse carry price stickers?) of anywhere from $1000 to $2000 per speaker. Yes, that is a LOT of money for a speaker.

Epiphany Audio is a real company, and their speakers are reputedly incredible. TAS claimed they do things nearly no other speaker can. Danny Ritchie of GR Research is one of their designers.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I am going to get a plate amp and build my own, one peaice at a time. For now Ill use the enclosure and driver I have. Upgrade those when necessary.
What should I look for when purchasing a plate amp? should I match up ohms. I think my sub right now is 8 ohms. my innitial thoughts would be to get an amp now and a 4 ohm sub in the future. Does that make a huge difference when only running one sub.
I appreciate all the suggestions!
