There have been quite a few new projector and screen threads so I thought I would add mine.

Well my screen came yesterday. And lets just say it is a bit bigger than I thought. I ordered a 84" thinking that the screen would drop nicely between my two mains that are(were) set apart a little over 6 feet.

So the Yellow delivery guy comes with this monster of a box that measures over 90" long. Needless to say I'm nervous when I see that. I open the box only to see that the tension bar at the bottom of the screen is 84 inches.

That is a foot wider than I planned. I have moved the speakers apart as far as I am willing and have found when they are toed in (thank god they are curved cabinets) that it will just fit. I will have to get a new mount for my tv so it is closer to the wall which will give me a couple of more inches.

So my point is that get the full specs of your screen (or any products) before you order so you don't have to go through this.

I can only imaging what my wife is going to say when she sees this.

Yeah man. I like bigger too. But bigger does come at the price of better speaker placement. Good that yours fits, but its probably now even more imperative to think of treatments at those early sidewall reflections.

Yep. One surprise I ran into was how much lower the screen had to be dropped from ceiling. I researched, and even thought of a little "slack" just in case on top of the roughly half a foot, but the best hooks I could find still dropped quite significantly. It all worked out in the end.

I hear you on this. I will probably build my own this winter but the new auralex treatments with the images are very nice. Too back there is no pricing and I don't think I can buy direct. I downloaded their form but have not filled it out yet.
