Recently, UK took away "Holocaust" from the schools curriculum because it is too offensive for the muslim population hat claim this has never happened. This is a frightening signal, are we that easily influenced??????

Now this is probably even more important than ever, because countries like Iran claim that the annihilation is just a myth...

I'm sure Wikipedia discusses it, but I'll throw out my pure speculation. The Holocaust led to (I believe) the present day establishment of the Israeli geographic state. Palestinians claim that the land is theirs, and Iran backs the Palestinians.

Perhaps some in Iran think that the Holocaust was faked to gain sympathy for the Jews and cause the creation of modern day Israel.

I don't know. I'm waiting for Dave to drop the real story on us.

I would think that if they, Iran, can garner some support to that story, they can claim that Israel is an illegal country and should be erased.

Seriously, it's only been the latter half of the 20th century that it's been legal and/or safe to be a Jew in Europe. Holocaust deniers are simply playing into this very same anti-Semitic prejudice that has been prevalent in Europe for many centuries.
