Bought a pioneer 507 CMX with key digital card. Local ISF guy wants $400-600 dollars, depending on number of in-puts, to calibrate. Is it worth it?

Seems like a very nice TV. I would go for it if you are into having the best video possible.

My opinion is that you should try to self-calibrate using a disc like AVIA or DVE first and then if you feel there is possibly more that could be done go for the ISF calibration.

I got my projector ISF calibrated right before Superbowl. I wouldn't say it was a "wow, what a difference" over the calibration I had performed on my own using DVE and Avai, but it did help.

In terms of is it worth it - that is up to you. What is worth it for one person in not for another. Are you happy with your current picture? If not, try the self calibration. If you are still not happy, then bring in the ISF guy.
