I have a 42" LCD Samsung with two HDMI inputs. I have a motorola cablebox (Comcast). I have a Denon S-301 with one HDMI output. I have the HDMI from the Denon going to the tv, that takes care of DVD's etc. Unfortunately, common sense should have prevailed when I dropped one hundred bucks on another HDMI cable and hooked it up to the tv. No sound? NO duh! I had to connect an optical cable from my Denon to the cablebox. Is there any solutions down the road that will allow these cable companies to talk to alternative sound systems. Most people have cable or the dish....and unless you are using a roof antenna, or using the sound from the tv....very inferior.....I am stuck with this patchwork solution.
