I guess anything is possible with the right amount of money.

The room I want to put my TV in is 16' X 20'. My wife does not want anything visible except the TV and the speakers. The master bedroom is behind the living room and the closet is behind the wall where the TV is going to go. Is it possible to put the receiver and DVD player in the closet and make something so I can use my remotes to make the items in the closet work? I am thinking that I can run an LED EYE ( I might be using the wrong terminology ) through the wall so I can use the remotes to make the receiver do what I want.

I have NO clue why she wants this, but I am just trying to see if it is possible. Thanx for any help.

It's very possible. You need an IR repeater unit of some sort. I, however, do not have much knowledge on the subject. Hopefully some with more knowledge of repeaters will chime in. On the plus side, they're not expensive products, since a lot of people want to hide their stack of equipment.

You might also want to think about dressing up your speaker cables. With some TechFlex tubing and heatshrink tube, you can make your cabling look world class.

This is very possible and would make for a very clean installation. You will have to cut a hole in the closet wall behind the TV to run the cables from the equipment to the TV of course.

You will need an RF remote and base station and here is my preference for such a system: http://www.universalremote.com/pro/products.php

Depending on how many components you will need to control (remember to include things like dimmable lights as a 'component') you would want either an MX-350, MX-650, or MX-850 and either the MRF-250 or MRF300 base station.

MDS hit it right on. I would go with one of the nicer Universal Remote Control (URC) products from the site linked above. The RF capabilities of the remote will allow reliable operation of all your gear whether you put it in the closet in the room or out in the garage.

Always remember that if you are sticking stuff into a closet to leave plenty of room around the gear for heat disappation and to check the closet when things are first setup to make sure that you don't have heat related issues. Your components like being stuffed into a hot closet for hours on end about as much as you would like to. :)

Keep an eye on things closely... 'her stuff' tends to drift. That's a pretty golden rule with women and closets. :D :p

Just make sure you don't completely block the closet with the TV, or you won't be able to change the DVD.
