The Athena speakers, for the money, are very well received. I've heard them before and have been pretty happy with what I have heard from them. They aren't killer speakers, but for that money, you don't expect killer. They definitely offer a great amount of value for what you spend.
The Yamaha receiver... Well it's Yamaha! This, is a good thing. Had the receiver been Denon, or Pioneer... it would be about exactly the same.
It isn't like a Sony receiver or something that may be poorly designed.
So, for the money, this package (not to be confused with a HTIB), is going to serve you pretty well in a basic entry level setup. I wish more people would consider dropping a couple of grand - get an audio setup like this, a HD projector, a 100" screen and for the price of your neighbors plasma, you have 5 times the screen size and full surround to go along with it!
