i ordered another panasonic tc-32lx85 lcd from them over 2 months ago. at the time, they "tried" to sell me a $8 cord for $90, no kidding. their phone manners are TERRIBLE, bordering on "mafia enforcer" style. and i have (gladly) yet to see the set i ordered. i am now watching the toshiba = that i love.

You might want to watch the video hot deal forum at slickdeals.net for a good price on larger TVs.

Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U 65" LCD for $2599.00

good deal or no?
You would be best to steer clear of them just check out their policy page http://www.fotoconnection.com/pages/policy.html. Any company who talks about cancelling orders like that is bound to cancel your order if you do not buy what they want you to. This is also the oldest trick in the book in electronics. Offer a teaser rate, than require the customer to purchase optional accessories for crazy prices or oops the shipment was delayed, misplaced, or they put your order on credit hold and keep you there until you buy the accessories or cancel your order.

Also sometimes when these guys make you purchase the remote seperate, cords etc.. They also have a habit of selling grey market goods which requires you to but a warranty from them.

Have I said enough???????????????????

Best to stick with Amazon.com delivery and setup free, they ship it on a ltl truck to your door (not drop it UPS), make sure it works before they leave, and will take it back and ship you another if it does not work in the first 30 days.

Also in cold weather you should give the TV 6 hours before you give it power. (the circuit boards are cold and will expand with heat causing bad solder joints).

What are your goals? Do you just want a narrow screen. Or a big screen?

For 2600 you can buy a Carada screen and a 1080p projector. That's 96" of screen.

You could also get a DLP tv. Very good contrast ratios. LEDs eliminate bulb replacements. I suggest this if you have the depth for it. Plasma works well too.

I would get the PJ and screen myself.

Going over 58'' cuts out some of the coolest options available. The difference between 58'' and 60'' is like moving your couch a few inches closer.

Front projection delivers a gorgeous image, but it is not for everyone due to ambient light limitations and additional work needed to make the setup look clean.

The option I would probably pick if I really had to have something larger than 60'' and was absolutely unwilling to consider 58'', would probably be the Samsung PN63A650. I think they can be purchased for under $2,800 shipping included (be careful).

I have seen them in person and can assure you everything about that TV is attractive. The "touch of red" looked more than fine in person. And while I'd prefer a TV with no gloss or colored bezels at all, this Samsung has everything in order. The picture was excellent in the darker room I viewed it in. Certainly in a much higher class than the Sharp. I just can't believe I didn't remember to suggest it until now.
