Is this a good deal for a Sony Wega?

Well it depends on how much other places are selling it for. But those Sony rear projection LCDs were what I thought I'd get when I first started looking at HD TVs. They were $2500 barely a year ago, so yeah I'd say $900 is pretty good.

I have it's slightly bigger brother (50 inch) in my bedroom. It's "last year's" model (actually came out in October), as the newer models have 2020 instead of 2000.

That's a great value, as on-line stores are selling it around $1150.

The 50 inch has a great picture and decent size from around 8 feet. I have had no problems other than Sony's poor quality HDMI connectors. Any time you bump the cable, you might have to cycle on and off a couple times to get the connection restored.

I have it hooked to a Toshiba HD-A1 and there is alot of depth to the picture.

The TV is very light, and can be carried by a husband and wife if needed. If it wasn't so big, you could probably pick it up yourself.

If you can get the long-term free financing and you will have a live person to yell at if something does go wrong, it's a winner.

two more quick notes

it's a 720p/1080i set, so don't expect 1080p, but at this size, it wouldn't make much difference anyway.

it does have a very good OTA HDTV tuner, pulling in 22 of the 23 HDTV broadcasts in the OKC area with an indoor set of rabbit ears.

I was very close to purching the 50 or 55inch versions of this tv.. The pricing was 1699 & 1999. But I decided to go Plasma.
