Is there any reason why...

I just purchased the Pioneer vsx 92TXH and wanted to hook it up through my TIVO HD Series 3 and LCD through HDMI. When I opened the box, there was a note enclosed with the receiver saying that I may not be able to route HDMI signals through this receiver and they gave me alternative configurations. Is there any reason why I should not be able to route the HDMI signal using the Tivo?

Do you think I'll have a problem? should I return the receiver and get one that will work? thanks in advance.

Sounds more like a disclaimer than anything else. There is a chance that some cable set-top boxes don't do well with receivers as HDMI repeaters, but it's usually just a firmware issue that can and has in most cases been resolved.

+1 on the cablebox problems...

I have both the 81 and the 91 and report not 1 single problem with any DVD player nor my Dish HD receivers being fully capable with both audio and video through HDMI.

Im really starting to sound like a fanboy of Pioneers receivers, but they just work.

I know the Elite's 1st gen receivers had problems with some cable boxes, but I think they've been remedied. I've never had problems with my Directv HD boxes. I've got a Pio 72 & I still love it.

Now, just plug it in & see if it works. I hope it works for ya'.
