Is there a way to have 2 audio sources being sent out the the speakers at same time?

Hey there,

I have a Yamaha HTR 5460, and I'm wondering if there is a way to have a microphone plugged into the receiver, and have the audio from the mic sent out the the speakers at the same time that audio from a DVD player is also being sent out to the speakers?

In a nutshell, can 2 separate sources of audio be sent to the receiver and then sent out the the speakers concurrently?

I would get a mixer, that will allow you to hook up multiple sources, especially a microphone, and then output to your receiver.

Most HT receivers won't really handle a microphone and certainly won't allow you to play multiple sources at a time without a device in the middle (mixer)

This would probably work just fine...

Or use a computer. Play the DVD at the same time as you are using the mic plugged into the sound card.
