Is the Yamaha V663 dual-source output capable?

I know it's multi-zone... but I can't figure out if the receiver will send a separate audio signal to my 4-zones that are wired off of the second zone output on the receiver.

It will output a analog source to the second zone that is different than the main zone(or the same) so you will have to hook analog connections for each source you want to play out of zone 2. It will not output different sources to four zones.

If you have a speaker selector that comprise your 4 zones and you are using the zone 2 out on the receiver you will get that source to play in your 4 zones.

The receiver can't convert the digital signals to analog?

I have a Speakercraft 8 channel amp (on order) that's going to run my four zones upstairs since everything downstairs is already nicely wired and installed. I'm running the outs to the AMP in an upstairs closet where all the future SK equipment will go (MODE's, MZC). I want to be able to listen to the IPOD or XM/Sirius from the receiver, thru the AMP upstairs, while watching TV/DVD/Xbox... what you're saying is I have to run RCA cables from the outputs on those sources instead of HDMI or component TO the receiver to get it to play that second source upstairs?

This is not uncommon at all. I have been round and round with this in designing my whole house system.

Page 103 in your manual in the box that "Only analog signals are sent to the second zone..." although you can use the xm/sirius and the Yamaha iPod dock which it talks about on pg 105. Any other sources would have to use rca's - sorry. Most of your gear should output through both types of connections so you can have HDMI in your main room and use the rca's for zone 2.
