I have heard bad things about the DVD S1500. I am thinking of upgrading for better bass management. The DVD 657 has great picture and redbook CD is awesome. The only bad thing I see about the 1500 is no bass management with DVD audio. But really, no DVD-A's are being made anymore, I only have 5 or so anyways..SACD is having newer releases as well as Dualdisc and there is full bass management for SACD.

Can I please get some user opinions on the DVD S1500 ? Thanks guys..

BTW, the DVD S750, the 5 disc one, is discontinued so please don't tell me to get that one. I know it has bass man agement in both DVD A and SACD.

I have no experience using the S1500 but it might be worthwhile to look for an S2300 or S2300MKII if you want to go with Yamaha. I am not sure what they are selling for used now days but it's a much better built player than the S1500.

If you want to look at other brands that new Denon 1920 seems like it might be a great value.
