Then, look at who is in:

Madonna: If record sales are the only criteria, she's a shoe-in. Otherwise....?
Mahalia Jackson: An "early influence"? That's stretching it quite a bit. A fine gospel singer, she may have been, but c'mon!
The Lovin' Spoonful: !?

And, if "early influences" is a legitimate category, where the hell is Django Reinhardt?

Even if they were inducted today, the absurd omission year after year is unforgivable.

The only two bands that have more consecutive Gold and Platinum albums are The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. This fact alone, even ignoring the widespread saturation of their influence on music and musicians all over the world, should be enough to lubricate their nomination in the minds of even the most dried-out, shriveled-up, biased industry insiders.

Hmmm...have any "prog" bands been inducted? Genesis has, but they weren't actually prog for half of their career, so maybe that's what got them in... (note that Peter Gabriel hasn't been inducted).

That Metal Show (VH1 Classic) recently did a great job of blasting the RRHOF. Most of these band can't even get a nomination... it's just ridiculous.
