Is the furniture really that different?

I am putting together my first home theater and I'd like to get 2 rows of 4 seats. I see things like the "Directors Collection" or "Studio Collection" or "Primetime Collection" and they can all be had for about $3K for all 8 seats. Then I see Berkline and others that get you only 4 seats for the same $3K (or more). Is there really THAT much of a difference in the seats? Does anybody have any experience with any of the lines I've mentioned above? (I'm leaning toward the Directors collection unless anyone has horror stories).

thanks for the feedback.

I'm not familiar with those collections but am familiar with furniture in general. :)

The difference could be better materials, like higher quality leather, or stronger construction and better warranty. Then of course it could be that some companies just plain price their stuff higher because many people perceive high price to be an indication of quality.

I can guarantee you that the one that is priced twice as high as the other will not last twice as long or have any greater residual value than the other. I'd just pick the one that you like the best and has a price you are comfortable with.

If you're talking about theater type seating, all the furniture stores have at least one model. RoomsToGo, Ethan Allen, RoomStore, etc.
