Is Speaker configuration on SACD player necessary?

Hi,

I own a Denon 3805 and a Denon DVD-1400 which reads the SACD format. My speakers are configured directly on the amp. This configuration is used when playing CD's and DVD's. What happens when playing a SACD?

Since the SACD content bypasses the processor of the amp I wonder if I have to configure my speakers on the DVD-1400 as well?

A positive answer seems obvious but...

The 1400 will do the D/A conversion, as you can't pass SACD over a digital connection. Therefore, you should make all of your speaker/distance/BM settings in your player. If you're using a digital connection (DVD, CD, etc), the 3805 will do the D/A conversion and will use the settings within the receiver.
