Well, I've got an old Sony KP51WS500. It's a 6-year old 51-in. wide screen rear projection TV. It's worked great for the last 6-yrs. with no problems. Today, the top middle and bottom middle of the screen seem to have arced towards the middle of the TV(kind of an hour glass on it's side shape). Also, everything seems to be red, green, & blue. Basically, I'd like to know if this can be easily repaired or if I just need to get a new TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

was this tv moved or dropped or bumped into really hard or anything? I mean, between the time when it worked until now?

I tried that, but it didn't fix anything. The picture looks the same. But thanks for the suggestion.

I know you tried the convergence, but your convergence or geometry chip might be out. I had a buddy of mine fix his in his Mits for $20 and an hour or two of labor, but he is bad *** with that kind of stuff. It's up to you if you want to check with a service center.

It hadn't been bumped or anything recently. We moved last year. The TV got moved out of our old house & into an apartment(by movers, not me). Then when our new house was done, it got moved from the apartment into the new place. We've been in our house since Oct. last year & it had been fine since then. I've been debating whether or not I should get it checked out & try to fix it or just buy a new TV. It's for my kids game room, so I'm in no hurry. I just don't want to dump a bunch of money into some obsolete technology with no gaurantee on how long it will last. Thanks.
