Is my sub dead?

I have a PSB image 6 sub thats about 8 years old. It appears to be almost dead. There is zero sound from the sub. Checked the power source, have power. Checked the fuse, filament intact. When the off/on switch is toggled to ON, the green power switch lamp is not illuminated. Also, when powered on/off, I hear a tiny electrical "whoop" sound for a split second. Any suggestions or other diagnostics?

Are you sure that it's the sub and not that there's no audio signal being sent to it?

Sounds like it could be a power amplifier issue. Remove the woofer for inspection & testing. If it checks out fine the problem most likely lies there. They power light not coming on does seem to be the obvious clue though.
