Is it the Pioneer VSX-74TXVI ...No treble

I have a Pioneer VSX-74TXVI, a JBL powered subwoofer, two front JBL L7's and JBL Northridge speakers on the sides and rear. I have used the auto setup in the Pioneer, I have manually adjusted the tone controls and done just about everything else I can think of. I get none of the real brillance of other setups I have had.....for instance hearing the click of a drumstick on a cymbal. Am I doing something wrong or are these speakers just not up to it?

My sources range from CD's, DTS, DVD-A on Pioneer Elite players.

Have you tried running the MCACC to at least see how it sounds? For reference, I'm using a VSX-72TXV with JBL N-Center & N-24's for surrounds & JBL S312II's for my mains. I really enjoy my setup with no problems. I also use the MCACC with the "Front Align" setting. Also, trying running MCACC & use the "EQ off" setting & the "All Adjust" setting & see if any of these work for you. Everything sounds better compared to my old Sony STR-DE875. Good luck.

EDIT: I guess by auto-setup you mean the MCACC? I ran mine several times to see how the results varied & make sure the room is dead quiet when running it.

Unless there was some sort of major goof in the setup, there is little chance it's a receiver issue.
