Hi all,

I've been piecing together an audio system via craigslist. Currently I have a pair of Klipsch KLF-20 speakers that I bought from a co-worker. I've been in search of a center channel, I've tried a couple lower end center channel speakers and they just didn't work. I'm not much of an expert in audio equipment, but I do know what sounds good and what doesn't sound good.

Long story short, it seems the ideal center channel speaker for my towers is a KLF-C7. I have the opportunity to purchase a used Klipsch RC-7 center channel. I'm not sure what the difference is between this speaker and a klf-c7 and how it would sound in relation to my klf-20 speakers. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what the matching center would be. KLF-C7 seems like it would be. The RC-7 has a different composition tweeter in it, and they are not crossed over at the same frequency as far as I can tell. If the RC-7 is at a good price and you're willing to try it, i'm sure it will blend better than a mismatched brand. What you're looking for is a sound match across your front sound stage. If the sound pans across the front and doesn't seem to change pitch or tone, you're probably pretty close. You might try shooting an e-mail to Klipsch. They might have a better suggestion or could tell you what the actual matching center would be. Hope it works out for ya.
