IR Clashing Problems

Hi,
Please forgive me if this post is in the wrong area or has been posted before but this is my first time here.

I was hoping that someone on here could give me some help with 2 yamaha items that I have. I have the M170 DAB Radio and the DVR-S120 and both are in the front room, but at different ends.

The problem I have is that each remote will turn the other item on as they both have the same IR Frequency.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the IR Frequency or how to make the receivers in the equipment less sensitive?

I hope you can help and I thank you in advance.

It's not that they use the same IR frequency; nearly all IR remotes operate at frequencies between 39 and 43 kHz. More likely the problem is that both components respond to the same set of commands.

- If you have the manuals for said components see if each remote and component can be set to a different ID.

- If you can't change IDs then another option would be to get an IR/RF remote and RF basestation that supports assignable emitters.
