So, now I'm less retarded and have learned that the dock connector sounds far superior to the headphone out on an iPod. But now I'm having a hard time finding a decent one to order... Please help me search;
Desired length: 4 feet
Desired pricing: ≥ $50

Thanks ;)

The only docks for iPod that I am aware of are the Apple dock and two from DLO.

The apple dock is in your price range but the audio cable and remote are sold separately. The functions of the remote are limited compared to the DLO models.

The DLO home dock is what a friend of mine has and it works flawlessly. I am looking to get the DLO Deluxe model myself but have already spent too much money on Christmas as it is. The DLO deluxe displays the screen info on your TV. This is a major plus for me because I have all of my equipment in an equipment room that is hooked up to the Theater and the other screens around the house. So when I am near any of the TVs I can see what music I am choosing. When the time comes that is the one I will get.

Hope this helps.

Can't help you there. I did not know that cable existed. That one does look crappy though.

You should think about one of the docks I was talking about. They also charge your iPod and also hook up to the computer via USB if you have a cable long enough. Keeps the iPod off of the counter surface as well.

Good Luck.

I have the DLO deluxe, and I've connected it using Blue Jeans cable S-video and analogue cables: sounds great, looks good, simple to use. IIRC, I picked it up below MSRP from Amazon, com. Be advised-if you've got a thick case on your iPod, you'll need to take it out to use the homedock.

Bryan...HTH...

hmm, well that dock does look really cool, esp the remote. Maybe that'd be a good birthday present for next month, but I still would appreciate help finding the cable I was talking about. I can only seem to find crappy ones or really expensive ones.

The easiest way would be to go to AudioLineOut.com and spend a hell of a lot. Or for ~$40-50 you could go to Head-Fi and PM a guy named TURBO and have him make you a TURBOdock V without a cable, so just the dock with a female 1/8" stereo connection. Then you could buy a 4ft. Mini-RCA cable and hook it up. TURBO charges $27 Shipped for the dock, plus however much you spend on the mini-RCA cable.

Denon also makes a docking station for the Ipod where you just plug your standard RCA left and right into the back of it and then into your preamp. Im sure theres quite a few other companies that make them aswell.
