Internal test tones with Denon AVR-X4700H

I have a Denon AVR 4700h. Speaker configuration is Atmos 5.2.2. (2 Atmos modules on front L/R). When manually running internal spkr
test tones, the levels for the Front/Atmos are much quieter than the rest of the channels by about 10db. All wiring checks ok. Switched Atmos modules to bookshelf speakers (to rule out speaker anomaly) and still same results. If I go into "Amp Assign" and change from "Front Atmos" to "Front Heighth" and re-run test...all tones are equal in volume. Is there a problem internally with the AVR? I have not done a hard reset. Any ideas?

I always use the Height channels. They support ATMOS, DTS:X and Auro 3-D.

They have to be set to Dolby speakers on. That’s for Dolby Atmos enabled(AE).
Try that and see what you get.

yes...when I Dolby speakers on...the test tone for those speakers is very low. When I change the assignment to "height"...the test tones are much louder and more in line with the others.....thats the weird thing????

And you are correct.....the "height" setting allows for all 3 formats....I think I saw that on a YouTube video by Techno Dad....that guy is awesome!!!!
