dampening
These are some cabinets a really shouldn't have bought. They have a port on the bottom. 8 inch woofer 6 inch mid, 3 inch cheesy pizo tweeter. I would send you a picture but I am to embarrass I replaced the eight inch woofers with some from a Bose 201’s. The six inch mids are now infinity’s. The tweeters are also from the 201’s. I am stuck with these and now paying for my impulsive sins. I will buy a three way crossover replace the tweeter etc. Until I can get these tuned to where I want them. Some of the suggestions I have received from another forum are as follows: Line with polyfill one sidewall the bottom leavening the ports from the tweeter to the mid to the woofer to the port open. Then leave one side without any dampening.
My musical background. I have been in the music biz for a long time. I run a 24 channel mixing board with 2 QSC 1000 watt amps, and 2 thirty one band eq's, efx etc. etc. I saw Pink Floyd back in the quad days. I remember Thoren turntables Pioneers attempt at quad. I am learning how to tune my room via bass traps, acoustic panels and all the rest of the money I will spend. I love concerts DVD's so I can relive my past. I would not call it a "theater" yet, but it will be a great listening environment. I will send you my equipment list. Yes it is 7.1
Please don’t laugh. I am with a woman whose job is the make sure that the MD 11’s and 747 UPS use stay in the air and complies to FAA regulations but has no clue to what audio means to some people.
Just looking for someone who I can have some rapport with and help me out this miss with these cheap towers I bought. Thanks for any input. Garry
