I currently have a very basic surround sound system. Its an old Sony k840p,but it suits me needs. My right rear speaker sounds like a "garden sprinkler". its a ch-ch-ch noise. It only happens sometimes, different channels, and volumes. My computer tower is 3 ft away from the stereo, but it has been there for years now. I have checked at the wires for cracks or bad connections. Is it just a bad speaker,or interference?I also hit mute on the cable box,and i still hear the noise, when i wants to happen.Any comments and ideas would be appreciated.

Could you please clarify the problem?

These two statements seem to conrtradict each other.

Is it always from the "right rear speaker" or does it travel to "different channels"?

Have you changed anything in your room prior to this starting? Sounds like mobile phone interference IMHO.
