Interesting - speaker IS the rack

A 6.1 surround bar that is essentially the top shelf of the audio rack. Not a bad idea IMO, and the price is lower than I would expect, though no idea if it has good sound or not.

By Onei Solutions, this 6.1 home theater stand fits a whole surround system's worth of components into a piece of piano black furniture, minus the subwoofer. With its built-in amp, six 15W speakers and bright, VFD display, all the Onei Home Theater Stand is missing is the scratched wood veneer of your current rig.
But it's OK, the system is light on wattage and it's only got two HDMI inputs. So you can pretend that holding off is a lifestyle decision, not an economic one. $535

It says "not including the sub", so effectively the 6 of the 6.1.

From appearances it looks like it has three drivers on each side and they all share one port plug. I assume the tweeters are built into the midrange drivers (but the pictures appear to have no tweeters whatsoever. I still don;t know why they call it 6.1 since no sub is used. 6.0 is more correct. But at 15 watts, I sure wouldnt be playing any action movies on this thing for fear that the speakers will blow. I guess this could be used in a den while watching CNN (as long as James Earl Jones voice never comes on "This is CNN" the deep bass in his voice might overwhelm those drivers. It's a novel concept but would be better if they designed it with 5.25" KEF UniQ drivers and had built in amplifiers to each driver built inside. Granted that woudl drive up the cost dramatically. If given the choice between this and a Bose Lifestyle system, guess I'd have to flip a coin.

Still, not a bad price considering that you can spend a lot more then $500 on just a tv stand. It is probably a big improvement on built in tv speakers too. A complete system that uses a design like this for the center channel would be neat too.

My TV speakers have 30W  :D It gets plenty loud without needing to have the receiver on.

I don't think those are ports, I think those are the tweeters, though with just 2, I don't see how they would achieve simulated surround unless there are some rear firing tweeters also. I'm sure it isn't a great system; I was putting it out there more for the concept - a surround bar stand. I've seen racks with speakers, but not a whole surround bar like this.

KEF already has the 5.2 series silly goose:p

And you need to get your sight checked ASAP I see 2 tweeter on the bar. ;)

A KEF sound bar would be far more expensive too. Probably in the 1000s.

But if you are that picky you probably won't want a sound bar anyway.

I saw an ad the other day for a box that is more or less similar to this except it sits on top of your rack/stand beneath the monitor, though I believe it was 2.1 only (sub built into the unit).
