I'm sure USB 3.1 headphones is just what we need! Now we can send sound at 10Gb/s to our headphones yay! Just think of how good sound sampled up to the Ghz range will sound! Plus the higher power sourcing ability of the USB 3.1 standard will mean that instead of USB 2.0 powered headphones only being able to get loud enough to damage our hearing the USB 3.1 powered ones could cause brain damage instead. Can't wait.

Oh and people are going to love all the new computers with no analog headphone outputs. It just means 90% of consumers will give up connecting external sound into devices and use the awesome internal speakers instead. Thanks Intel!

You don't get it. Intel is making a revolution in science. They are changing sound to be all digital.
So all you'll hear is morse code beeps. No more issues of distortion or feedback. Just ones and zeros.
I for one am looking forward to make my over $1000 spent on headphones obsolete and buy them same models again - but now with dac and amp separate on every single headphone.
Woohoo

No I heard they decided against morse code beeps as after some studies they found too many people didn't understand it. So now they are outputing just a monotone electronic voice with the words "One" and "Zero". The Fidelity is meant to be amazing.

They had some test audiences listening to beethoven in a locked room with this new format and at the end they were all crying it was that good! The bit at the end where it just fades out to nothing and is just all "Zero Zero Zero..." was meant to be amazing.
