Did you mean the pre amp part of the 6900? I doubt it has signal processing in it that the 3805 has, right? Why would you use its pre amp section for?
If you are asking about the amp section, it would depend on the power it has vs the 3805. Does you listeing habits and speakers need exptra power that much?
But, it woul dnot hgurt to try it as you have it, especially if the 6900 has the jumper from pre to power amp section to interface it with the 3805.
As to sound quality differences, that is dubious.
