Great info on this forum-Thanks

I am considering purchasing either an Integra DTR 6.5 or a Denon 3805. Any opinions on either receiver are welcome. I plan to use the receiver for 60% music and 40% movies.
Thanks again.

Have you thought about NAD since you seem to be leaning towards music. Rotel might be another as well.

I have Rotel audio currently but the surround receivers i've seen are a little more expensive. I have not looked at NAD. Another consideration might be the Yamaha 1600.

I highly suggest Marantz or Pioneer Elite. I wouldnt use a Yamaha for anything remotely related to music.

Yamaha receivers

Yamaha receiver have been found (through scientific measurements) to be very transparent and not color the sound. Thus, there is no reason why they would work well for music. They are also some of the best receivers for multichannel movies and music. Finally, their large scale production and distribution allows you to get more for your money compared to some of the smaller "botique" manufacturers.

I would keep the Yamaha RX-V1600 and RX-V2500 on your short list of receivers under $1K.
