Looks like a great buy, with all the features it has, it looks like they might have a winner.

Then another month before The Emotiva MPS-1 amp is available. When it all comes together, I'll post first impressions asap.

Is there a user manual download available. I'd like to see if it will display the OSD in higher resolution than 480i over HDMI and if it will upconvert/deinterlace 480i over component to HDMI. My TV will not receive 480i over HDMI, so I've reverted back to component so I can see the OSD and Escient menu without switching sources on the TV every time. Component has become my one wire solution from receiver to TV, but going back to HDMI would be great.

edit - found the manual. this thing looks great. lots of video ability.
Here's the link to the manual.

Oh man, Denon may be lining up behind the eight-ball on this one.

Denon's amp and pre-pro combo is monstrous, not really the same league.;)

Thanx Dave for that link.

What I meant was that this pre/pro will be very appealing to the A/V enthusiast who would prefer a pre/pro with the latest features instead of settling for a receiver or paying for a higher priced pre/pro. Looking at the feature set of the Integra, I’m hard pressed to find anything lacking for my current/near future needs. It’ll be interesting to see how it performs. The new Denon pre/pro is feature/$$ loaded beyond what the average A/V enthusiast needs/wants. Denon could afford to drop a few of its receivers and put that capital into producing a similar model to the Integra. It’ll also be interesting to see what Sherwood Newcastle replaces the P-965 with, and how soon.

After a more intense perusal of the 9.8 manual, I would say that a lot of people who have been waiting for a current, feature loaded pre/pro at the price of a better mid-level receiver will find this unit very appealing. I also found the manual to be fairly well written.

I’m surprised there isn’t more buzz around here regarding the Integra DTC-9.8.

BTW, it'll take quite a bit of nagging in my mind to give up my Denon AVR-5800.

It looks to me like you would have to move into an Anthem AVM-50 to get the video upconversion and deinterlacing features of the Integra. That's what I get from Anthem's chart.

Hi - this link doesn't work any more - does anyone have another link or another way for me to get this manual? I'm looking at buying this piece.

Thank you!
