Installing ceiling speakers

My new house has been wired for ceiling speakers and volume controls in four rooms. I have purchased the polk speakers and niles volume controls and in the process of installing. The 16/2 4-conductor wiring is home runned to a panel from the volume controls...I have been able to wire the volume controls from the panel; black-left negative, white-left positive, green-right negative, red-right positive. One of the rooms has 4 stereo speakers with one volume control. There are 4 16/2 2-conductor wires feeding to the volume control from the speakers. Each of the 16/2 wires has red and black wires. I am new at this and at a loss how and where to connect these to the volume control. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

With 4 speakers and only volume control you have to tie like wires together and then insert them into the volume control's outputs. That will put the speakers in parallel so hopefully the volume control is the impedance matching type and can be set to maintain 8 ohms.

The color of the wire for each terminal doesn't matter as long as they are the same on each end; ie if you connected the green wire to the right speaker's negative terminal, make sure the other end of it goes to the right speaker's negative terminal on the receiver.

If you had kept black and red as one pair and green and white as another pair it would be easier to match things up. Just make sure that positive goes to positive and negative goes to negative.
