INSTALLATION ADVICE - IN-CEILING SPEAKERS - CATHEDRAL CEILING

Good Day:

I am getting ready to wire up four in-ceiling Atmos speakers in my cathedral ceiling. I will be using the KEF Ci200RR-THX speakers. I only have access to the ceiling cavity from the drywall side.

The rafters are on 24" centres. The roof system consists of 1/2" textured drywall, vapour barrier 2 x 10 rafter, 2 x4 on the flat side (perpendicular to the rafters, spaced every couple of feet), and the roof sheathing. It is insulated with fibreglass batt insulation.

The minimum cabinet volume is 0.35 cubic feet and ideal is 0.71 cubic feet.

I don't think I will be able to create an airtight enclosure.

Could anyone suggest what would be the best method to get a decent response from the speakers?

Thanks,

Michael
