oh god... please dont buy that. Go for a yamaha or pioneer if your stuck with b/b brands. save your money, dont waste it on something that you will likely want to replace very soon

1) Lowest priced receivers at BB.
2) Only available at BB.
3) No history.
4) No background information on the Insignia website.

I would say no.

To amplify what Zumbo said, let me quote that great philosopher, Han Solo

"I've got a bad feeling about this..."

i bought a insignia 5 disc cd player for my work shop system, what a peice of f#$@!& s#!t that was, when i would insert a disc the stupid revolving drawer would do like 100 rotation's before closing then i swear the player took atleast 2 minutes to start playing not to mention if i even so much as farted near that stupid thing it would loose tracking & skip,of course i lost the recipt & the folk's at best buy wished me all the luck in the world but without a recipt i was stuck with the thing.

i ended up out in the work shop late at night drunk, the player started it's usual crap,i ended up throwing a hissy fit & smashing it to bit's with a hammer.

i wouldnt buy anything made by insignia ever again even if it was free.

That is funny. I had a free Cyber Home CD player that came with a flat screen crt and it just died. What a pos. Funny - this crap is only available at BB and they won't take it back.

If you need cheap garage/shop gear, alway go to Costco. They'll take anything back forever. My sister just got money back on a VCR (all her kids videos are VHS) a few months ago - probably 2-3 years old!

Oh, and don't buy Insignia - anything. Good advice already given.

The reason it is only at BB is because it is their company that they own. Likewise, CC uses **** like liquid video. Those are their brands that they mark up tremondously, they really are a piece of ****.

Avoid them. If you want one look on ebay they go for about 15$

Sorry to resurrect old threads but I have some info regarding the Insignia Receivers.

They are made by Aivin Electronic, which sells them I mass quantities. The minimum order is 550 units. So Best Buy orders them, slaps a Insignia logo on it and sells it.

Some cool features just looking at the receivers, they have toroidal power supplies, Toshiba transistors, and 10,000 uF capacitors. Technically speaking, not bad for $100-$150 if it doesn't break.
