insignia is-hc040917 problem

ok here's the issue.

we threw a party one night and had the music playing for about 5-6 hours on 60dbs. near the end the music started to pop in an out, so we turned it off because it seemed really hot.

now it turns on and but the only problem is that the speakers aren't working.

could it be the reciever or the actual speakers.

It "could" be either. A little more info is necessary.

well i opened it and nothing seems to be wrong but im not an expert. pretty much everything turns on but no sound is coming out. not even the scratching sound or a popping sound. just dead silience.

Sounds like you blew it up, is it under warranty?

Yeah, well, I think that one may be out the window now. bdoggs opened it and he is not qualified...that voids most warranties that I'm aware of.

If "everything turns on" then it is not the amp(s). Short of a vom and continuity tester, I see no methodical way of identifying the problem now

They will not know he opened it.

I returned this same receiver in the box and they didn't even open the box to check if I filled it with bricks.
