Hi there, I'm new to this group so wanted to say hello to everyone first!
I just purchased a set of Martin Logan Source speakers for my home theater.
There is ample room for them, and I want to purchase a power amp specifically to power them. These will be my front speakers and will be used for both movies and music. I currently have a Marantz SR6400 AV receiver (6.1 100w/channel, 0.08 THD) that I will be using to run surround, center, and for now sub.
The speaker specs are:
Frequency Response 42–22,000 Hz ± 3dB
Sensitivity 90 dB/2.83 volts/meter
Impedance 5 Ohms/1.6 @ 20kHz
Crossover Frequency 470 Hz
High/Mid Frequency Driver 28” (71cm) CLS™ Generation 2 electrostatic
Low Frequency Driver 8” (20.3cm) paper cone
Power Handling 200 watts per channel
Weight 47 lbs. (21.4kg) per channel
Dimensions (HxWxD) 51.2” x 9.7” x 14.6”
(130 x 24.5 x 37cm)
I'm looking for input and options on the right amp.
I would prefer not to spend over $500 but I want to get a good amp that will show off these speakers. If I had to wait and save up more money for better equipment, I am not opposed to that. I would not mind buying used either. Basically, I'm looking to get the best bang for my buck. If it takes a few more dollars to justify something better, I am willing to listen.
Thanks all in advance!
