Hey guys, im new here. Posted on the speaker forum yesterday. Thought i'd ask here then before trying to find another forum.

My buddy has a Infocus screenplay 5000, bought it refurb off woot a year or so back. It is not covered under warranty anymore.

A few months back, it just shut off, and never would turn back on, nothing happens at all when you press power. No blinkling light to suggest error message of any sort like the manual says.

He contacted them for repairs, and they wanted 400$ and would not tell him what the problem was.

So i was hoping someone hear might have an idea. Are there any fuses of any sort? I've got an electronics/engineering back round, and i've opened her up, but the way it is designed it will take me a few hours to get to the powersupply side. Would rather ask before i tear it apart then.

Cant find much on yahoo, or google so far.

Thanks an advance.

Well, it was pretty obvious once i got the powersupply out of the case. something is blown apart, i cant even tell what, only half of it is remaining, and its burnt to a crisp.

Infocus will not sell replacement parts to anyone, except authorized repair people. I saw a few power supplies on ebay, but nothing for this model. Anyone know of where i could get schematic, or order replacement parts for infocus?

Mods, you can delete this. I've reposted in dIY forums.
