Hello:
Several years ago I installed a low end media system in our media room.
The configuration is as follows:
Spectrum Cable
Infocus Screenplay 5000
Onkyo AV 6.1 HT-R520 receiver
110' Screen
All this was utilizing component video
Today my Screenplay 5000 stopped working. So, I am asking for suggestions based on my needs.
Now that the kids are out of the house, we use this maybe 10-15 times a year. So, I would like to keep the cost low,
I was perfecting happy with the Screenplay 5000, but these are no longer produced.
I am wondering if I should just get another SP5000. Since the are no longer produced I would have to find one for sale for grab one off Amazon.
I am looking for a replacement of the Screenplay 5000 with another projector or a large screen TV.
If I go with a projector. My requirements are minimal and I can easily run an HDMI line from the cable box to the location of the projector.
If I just replace the projector, I think these are the requirements.
1) HDMI or could be component - Prefer HDMI
2) HD (unless that makes it extremely expense)
3) Ability to hang from the ceiling
4) Cost $250 - $500/max
5) Good resolution. The Screenplay 5000 is 1280X 720 (16-9)
6) Able to project a 110" picture onto my screen
If TV
1) I would think at least a 70" screen
2) under $500. (sorry, that's not a joke. It is my budget)
Any suggestions, advice or ideas are much appreciated,
While I am doing this I wouldn't mind upgrading my receiver. Right now my speakers are rather large. I don't know if these is something new that is smaller and wireless.
