Since my hk avr7550hd is at loose ends at the moment, I set it up as a pre pro for my hk990, bypassing the pre pro section of the hk990. I like the SQ of the avr7550 as pre pro compared with the hk990's pre pro. Definition isn't quite as good as hk990 but SQ is more pleasing, slightly tube-like in upper range.

The processor chip in the avr7550hd is Texas Instruments Aureus DA710. I read somewhere that it is 32 bt in stereo mode but the display says 44.1kh when I play redbook cd's. I've searched the net but can't find any info on this chip (that I can understand). Does anyone know what this chip is doing with redbook cd's and what it is capable of doing with other formats--sources?

Thanks,

Lynne
