them are biwireable speakers. The top one is for the highs and the low one is for the lows. If you are not going to biwire them (separate amplifiers for each set of plugs) you will need to get a jumper plate or make small jumper wires to connect them together red to red black to black.

Im got a Denon 3808ci on the way so I could hook 5.1 and then Biwire with extra two CHs ?

That is Bi-amping. Buy-Wiring is running the same signal to the speaker with 2 sets of wires vs. 1. Not worth your money.

If you're thinking of running the extra set of speakers off the A or B output, don't. These channels share the same amplifiers respectively(L+L, R+R), and you will put huge loads on the amp, most likely causing it to go into protection mode (shutting off).

thanks for the correction...

But some 7.1 HTR have the capabilities to bi-amp speakers. Even my not so pricy Pioneer 815 had a provision to do this.

True, but never ever use the B channels. Only operate them both at LOW levels, such as back ground music.

i would assume there is a difference.
It had 3 settings:
a or b, a+b mode
2nd room mode
Bi amp mode
(not much difference i would assume besides the way the amplifier runs)

It was also able to be switched to 4 ohm mode with a few clicks of a button.

I never ran biamp on it though so i have no clue.

I thought the Denon 3808 has 7 separate amps and if I run 5.1 suround I would have two channels not in use

Thanks Tim

It does. I'm just saying, those extra channels are NOT the B channels. I'm sure you can find all this information, and more, in your owners manual.
