Hello my friends

I just subscribed in this forum and I was searching something about my new used speakers from Infinity.

I would really appreciate your advice on this.

I used to hear the Bose 901 VI and yesterday my Infinity Kappa 7.1 Series II arrived.
I hooked them up...the pots -dials behind the speakers for mids and highs dont work but the speakers play.

Now I try to make my comparisons and maybe I was used to the sound of Bose. The Infinity sound different. I think they are more softer but I have the bass and treble on flat.

The Bose had more highs but I had the Bose equalizer to have the highs all the wayup.

I hope I made the right choice even the Infinity are used

I would appreciate your comments

Thanks in advance

Bose speakers are really only capable of highs. So of course they would have better perceived highs. However the Infinity speaker is adding parts of the music that just haven't existed before in the Bose speakers. So the highs in the Infinity's seem weaker. I don't know enough about those particular speakers to comment on the tweeter, but my infinity beta tweeters can actually go way higher than a Bose speaker. Your ears will adjust to the new sound over time. If you decide the Bose are more to your liking. Then I suggest sticking with them. Your ears are the ultimate judge of sound not science, or us. I can't judge for you. I can only try to expose you to what I consider to be better speakers.

Thats what I have noticed too lsiberian. Infinity reveal instruments and parts that i couldnt hear on Bose.

Also i have my pre amplifiers bass and treble at 0 as I said before.

Bose treble on the equalizer was all the way up.

Even the pots of infinity dont work i get good sound.

Its a matter of gettingused to them as you said.
Thank you lsiberian

I also thank Gmichael too.

I have a pair of the Infinity Kappa 7.1 series II that I bought new in 1997 at Circuit City.

I don't think that there is a problem with the pots on your speakers. I have never been able to hear a change in sound or volume when turning the pots on mine. I just leave them turned fully clockwise. Maybe someone with super hearing might hear a difference.

They are great sounding speakers.
