Infinity in Canada

Ok, I have what may be the best deal on Infinity speakers I've ever seen up here. Infinity Primus 160's for $99 Cad a pair plus a coupon for 25% off, so all in all, $75 a pair. http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10031140&catid=20319 Not too shabby. My big knock on Infinity is how costly they are. For example these speakers were $399 (edit: actually $449) a pair initially. They sound good, but not $400 good IMO. They do however sound much better than $75 dollar good. I'm convinced that this must be a typo, mainly because the Primus 140's are on sale for $149 and they are a much inferior speker IMO with a smaller diver and a $200 less MSRP up here in Canada. I'm heading to BB for lunch and I'll try to pick up a pair. I can demo them against my PSB's, Yeah weeknight project. The GF will be thrilled I bought more speakers. (I have a set already and a htib not in use).

Sold out everywhere. My boss let me take a extra half hour for lunch so I could go to Scarborough (45 min away) to get a pair that the sales-staff at our local store were assured were in stock. They were the last pair in Ontario apparently. I drove out, asked for the speakers and they told me they didn't have them. Not that they had sold them mind you, just that they weren't in stock, and hadn't been when they had told the salesperson at the store I was at that they were indeed in stock. So angry..... So murderously angry.

Hush Tom, those days are way behind me ( and I'd hoped forgotten ). Plus the new GF is too new to be allowed an opinion on my stereo addiction, lol. She knows what my Room Mate and I are like. We live in a 3 bedrrom house with 7 TV sets. I Have a bedroom and a living room and I have a complete HT including projector, a decent stereo setup attached to my bedroom TV which is 32", a spare 27" TV and a pair of speakers without an amp to drive them. This one not only tolerates my quirks, she enjoys watching my Living room setup and all her friends have to listen to her talk about my electronics.

I look forward to the review Sheep. That Price was unbeatable IMO. I really wanted to take a pair of those guys apart and see how they performed in my main HT and Stereo setup. And now I never will.

Yes new, I needed the newer model with the longer legs package, plus she blends in better with the speaker cabinets, lol.

LOL guys. I will say I traded up I guess upgradeitis is contagious .

No extended warranty, I wanted the option to trade her in in a year or so . JK. This one is WAY easier to deal with. SHe even pretends to be interested when I talk about stereo stuff, like the bass shakers I'm looking into

Yeah, my wife used to like my bass shakers, too, heh. But now...not so much.
