Hello everyone, I am about to complete my home theater setup and need a little advice. I am not spending tons of money on my setup but as it is with everyone want the best performance for the $$$. I currenty have a HK AVR-235 receiver and a pair of Infinity Primus 250 mains. I already have the surrounds picked out to go along with the primus mains, but have come to a standstill on the sub to go with. I am looking at the Infinity CSW-10 and the Velodyne DSP-10, has anyone out there had any experience with either of these subs??? Overall the Infinity seems to have better specs than the Velodyne but I know that specs aren't always the thing to make a decision by. So, if anyone has any opinions or experience with either subs I would greatly appreciate the feedback.... by the way my room is around 25' x 14'.

Thanks in advance....

velodyne dps 10

I have the velodyne dps 10 . It is indeed a budget sub compared to the other subs that velodyne produces . I like the sub it is not at all "boomy" and pretty effecient @ it's price point . The only draw backs are that the volume is controlled from a touch panel located @ the top of the sub . This may be pretty convient to some and the cool blue lights are attractive but when you have a reciever that auto calibrates its self , it's a pain because you can't tell how high or low your sub is until that channel is tested . Compared to the infinity sub I would go with the velodyne if you can over look that and are really concerned about low undistored bass .

infinity

I would go infinity, hands down.

more power, goes lower, and has R.A.B.O.S.

not to mention it looks better. I also don't like the idae of presets, I like to be able to customize the sound to how I like.

thats my 2 cents.

Velodyne DSP-10

I have the Velodyne DSP-10 and I highly recommend it! This is a very musical sub for the money (CCity for $450). I wouldn't pay attention to specs one bit. I listened to several locally available subs in my price range and always came back to this one. It has a beautiful sound and was easy to place in my listening area. The blue lights can be turned off (in case you have the room very dark). It also has its own 'midnight' button for late night explosion calming.

I have not heard the Infinity...so I’m not comparing.

Velodyne, at least for me, has great customer service. They return phone calls...may not sound like a big deal, but it is in today's world of customer service. :)

I plan to demothe Velodyne in person tomorrow, the Infinity however I will not be able to find a demo for. Price wise I will be able to get either of these subs at a great price($313 for the velo or $299 for the Infinity) brand new. So as far as price goes they are practically the same, I just want to get the best for my money.
